The city said in a statement Thursday that it has filed an application under the Dangerous Dogs Act asking the Court of Queen’s Bench to order the animals to be humanely destroyed. Community peace officers seized the dogs after the attack and they are being held pending the outcome of the application. The city says Calgary Police and Community Standards are continuing to investigate the dog attack. After the crash, the city and Alberta Health Services ordered reviews into why it took an ambulance 30 minutes to respond to the disaster.
