Alcohol and beer
NSLC: Closed. Check their website for more information on local agency stores. Bishop’s Cellar: Open from 10 am to 11 pm on Friday. Propeller Brewing Company: Open regular hours on Fridays (noon to midnight) on Gottingen Street and from noon to 8 p.m. at Quinpool. Nine Locks Brewing Company: Open at noon until 22:00 on Friday. Off Track Brewing: Open at noon until 22:00 on Friday. Moosehead Cold Beer Store on Windmill Road: Open from 10 a.m. until midnight. RockHead Wine and Beer Market: Open Friday 10 a.m. to midnight.

Transit
Halifax Transit buses and ferries will operate on public holidays on Friday. For detailed holiday plans by individual route, visit their website.
Waste collection
There will be no municipal garbage collection services on Friday. The collection of waste, biological or recyclable materials that is normally scheduled for Friday will be received on Saturday, July 2. The Otter Lake landfill, the Halifax Recycling Plant and the municipal composting plant will be closed on Friday and will be operational on July 2.
Leisure and entertainment
Halifax Regional City Hosts Numerous Festive Events This is the first year of KANA’TA: Canada Day 2022, an event developed in collaboration with indigenous communities A free pass for The KANA’TA x Grand Oasis Festival concert is available here. KANA’TA: Canada Day 2022 includes fireworks and fireworks displays in Halifax, Dartmouth and Bedford. Details of the city’s Canada Day celebrations can be found here. Municipal beaches are open. Municipal outdoor pools in Halifax Common, Bedford and Cole Harbor will not open this summer due to COVID-19. All Cineplex theaters are open.
Canada Post
No mail will be collected or delivered on Canada Day. Most mails will be closed on Fridays, but privately operated mails may be open.
Parking
On-street parking is free on Fridays. However, drivers must adhere to the other license plates.
Banks
All banks are closed on Friday.
311 call centers
Call center 311 will be open on a regular basis, from 8 am to 8 pm on Friday. The five customer service centers that provide personal access to municipal services and payments will be closed on Canada Day.
