Four suspects in a home raid linked to a series of burglaries in Northern California, including one in which they tied up and attacked an elderly couple and another who threatened to shoot a baby, have been arrested, authorities say. The San Jose Police Department announced on Thursday that three men and a minor had been taken into custody. They were identified as Armando Manzano and Daniel Mendez, both 19 years old. Eduardo Santiago, 23; and a 17-year-old who was not named. Manzano was arrested two days before an unrelated robbery, police said. “We are disappointed,” said San Jose police officer. said Christian Camarillo at Fox San Francisco. “The suspects must remain in custody. We need higher guarantees.” Other suspects are wanted by police in connection with the house raids. (San Jose Police Department) The first robbery occurred on May 31, when five to six suspects tied an elderly couple with belts, brandished a pistol and attacked them “violently”, police said. Among the items they stole were bank cards, jewelry and the victim’s vehicle. A short time later, the suspects went to another house where they were holding a male and a 15-month-old baby at gunpoint. “The suspects threatened to shoot the child and abducted the victim, forcing him to go to his bank, demanding that he withdraw money from his account,” the police statement said. They returned the victim to his home and took bank cards and jewelry. They appeared in the security plans to leave the scene as well as the victim’s wife as she was returning home. A third home robbery on June 7 involved two suspects holding a elderly couple at gunpoint and attacking them, police said. Manzano was arrested on June 5 on an unrelated charge and released by police the next day.
