The unidentified woman was fatally struck around 11:30 p.m. as she crossed West Farms Road at Tremont Avenue. The driver, whose vehicle has not yet been identified, fled the scene, police said. The woman was taken to Agios Varnavas Hospital where she was pronounced dead. About 20 minutes later and less than a mile away, a Toyota Rav 4 crashed into an unidentified man on a scooter, police said. The man suffered a serious head injury and was taken to St. Barnabas in critical condition. The driver of the Rav 4 remained at the scene and no foul play is suspected, officers said.
