Around 80 firefighters are battling the blaze at a 17-storey block of flats in south London. A dozen fire engines are at the scene of the blaze in St Mark’s Square in Bromley, the London Fire Brigade said. Half of a five-room apartment on the 15th floor of the block has been gutted and part of the roof is also on fire. Firefighters were called at 11.58am. and are still at the scene using a 64-metre-long revolving ladder to extinguish the fire. The Brigade’s 999 control center received 95 calls alerting them to the fire. The cause of the fire is not known.
