Cancellations increased as severe weather hit parts of the country on Friday and Saturday. Airlines canceled more than 1,200 U.S. flights during those two days, about 2.4 percent of those scheduled, as the storms affected several major airports. The problems eased later in the weekend, with about 300 flights canceled on Sunday and about 225 on Monday, as of early afternoon, according to data from FlightAware, a flight tracking company.
