RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Gina Slaney says Josh Burns was found dead inside a local business in Sudre shortly after midnight on July 4th. Local media identified the business as McDonald’s. A 27-year-old Sundre man was located near the scene and arrested, later charged with first-degree murder. The two men were known to each other, Slaney said. “The investigation will continue, but apparently it was enough to proceed with charges of first-degree murder,” he said. The 27-year-old man will appear in Canmore Provincial Court on July 6 at 9:30 a.m. Slaney could not provide additional information at this time. Sundre is located approximately 115 kilometers north of Calgary.
