Aleena, 35, was found with extensive head injuries in Ilford early Sunday morning. Shortly afterwards, she was pronounced dead. Metropolitan police launched an investigation into the murder and announced they had arrested a man on Monday on suspicion of murder. Police say Jordan McSweeney, 29, homeless, had been charged with murder, attempted rape and robbery. He will appear in custody at the Thames Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. Aleena died after what police described as a “horrific attack” near her home. He was found with extensive head injuries at 2.44am on Sunday by passersby on Cranbrook Street, Ilford. Police said an autopsy found no evidence of a weapon being used to cause injuries. Police said Aleena was walking along Cranbrook Street toward Gants Hill Station when she was attacked. Aleena wanted to become a lawyer and had a law degree from the University of Westminster. From May, he worked as an administrator in the Royal Court of Justice and in the past worked for the resettlement of refugees. In a statement issued by police on Wednesday, her family said their loss was “irreparable and the gap feels insurmountable”, adding: “It was in the heart of her community, 10 minutes from home.” “Zara was happy at a point in her life where her joy radiated and blossomed,” the statement said. “She was ready to start a family. “Her sense of justice and fairness has led her to a life that offers and cares for others – supporting refugees fleeing violence, giving voice to those who have less power. “She had a special habit of observing others in need and always put their needs on her agenda. A carefree spirit, with the most caring heart. ”
