Police remain at the scene in Lawns Park – by The Planks in the Old Town – where there is a curfew from 5 pm, while gathering information. The victim has since been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. His injuries are said to change his life, but not menacingly. No one has been arrested for the incident, but investigations are ongoing. In a statement tonight, Wiltshire police said: “Officers have cordoned off an area in The Planks, in the Old Town, following a serious attack earlier this afternoon (28/6). “We were called shortly after 5pm after reports that a 21-year-old man had been attacked. “He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and his injuries are believed to be life-changing, but not life-threatening. “No arrests have been made in connection with this incident at this time, but our investigations are ongoing. “Anyone with information should call us at 101 and report the calendar number 225 today.”
