Released now, the new beta version of the password manager adds support for the δε Login… (Opens in new window) buttons — saving your preference, whether it’s a connection to Apple, Facebook or Google, for example . On your first visit to a website or service, 1Password will note the social networking method used (if used at all) and automatically select it for future visits without the need for user intervention. “When we announced our vision for the future, we introduced the idea of Universal Sign On,” Mitch Cohen, product manager for 1Password B2C, wrote in a blog post. “What this means for us is that logging in should be easy, whether you use a password, a Facebook account or whatever.” To try out the new feature, just download the beta browser (Opens in new window) for Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox. “It’s as easy as it sounds,” Cohen said. “Log in as you prefer and let 1Password take care of the details.” The new feature initially supports connectivity with Google, Facebook or Apple, with more providers expected to be added soon.

The password manager also extended the secure password sharing feature, introduced in October, to include documents and files (Opens in new window) stored on the site. Additional enhancements include the ability to restrict data sharing to a predefined list, switch recipient requirements, and share data across an entire domain, while email verification is still required.
